The Ambulatory Health Hub is a completed health-care redevelopment project that transformed a former large-format retail building into a modern, multi-disciplinary outpatient medical facility serving the St. John’s region.
The project involved the adaptive reuse and full interior redevelopment of the existing structure to support a broad range of clinical and diagnostic services. The completed facility includes ambulatory care clinics, urgent care services, advanced diagnostic imaging (including MRI), treatment and support spaces, and administrative areas. The design prioritizes efficient patient flow, accessibility, and operational functionality while meeting the stringent technical, regulatory, and safety requirements of a contemporary health-care environment.
Allied Construction Management ULC provided full construction management services from pre-construction through project close-out, including cost control, scheduling, procurement, and on-site coordination. Delivery of the project required close collaboration with health-care authorities, design consultants, and specialized trades to manage complex mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems, infection-control measures, and commissioning activities.
By repurposing an existing building, the project was delivered efficiently and sustainably, maximizing the value of existing infrastructure while reducing overall construction timelines. The completed Ambulatory Health Hub represents a significant enhancement to regional health-care services and demonstrates Allied’s capability to successfully deliver complex, technically demanding health-care facilities.
