The Urgent Care Centre is a completed, purpose-built health-care facility delivering timely, high-quality urgent medical services to the St. John’s region. Developed as part of a larger health-care redevelopment, the centre was designed to relieve pressure on hospital emergency departments while improving patient access to appropriate levels of care.
The project involved the construction and fit-up of a fully modern urgent care environment, including patient assessment and treatment rooms, triage and waiting areas, diagnostic and support spaces, staff work areas, and associated clinical infrastructure. The layout was carefully planned to support efficient patient flow, infection-control protocols, and safe, effective clinical operations in a high-throughput setting.
Allied Construction Management ULC provided comprehensive construction management services, overseeing pre-construction planning, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and on-site coordination. Delivery of the Urgent Care Centre required close collaboration with health-care stakeholders, consultants, and specialized trades to integrate complex mechanical, electrical, medical gas, and life-safety systems, while meeting strict regulatory and operational requirements.
The completed Urgent Care Centre represents a significant investment in community-based health services and demonstrates Allied’s experience delivering technically complex health-care facilities that are functional, efficient, and patient-focused.
