View ProjectsBrad is in his 26th year now with Allied, joining them in 1996. He has estimated and/or managed many types and sizes of projects over the years with many in the range of 25 to 50 million dollars.
Brad received his degree in civil engineering from Memorial University in 1988 and became a professional engineer two years later in 1990. Upon graduating Brad worked with Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Department of University Works, and after 5 years joined N.D. Dobbin limited, working there from 1993 to 1996.
Brad’s involvement in the construction industry goes back long before gradating engineering. As far back as junior high school, Brad spent his summers working with the family business, City Builders Ltd., on projects around Newfoundland and in Northern Labrador.
Brad has volunteered much time over the years to various organizations and associations. He served 11 years on the Board of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association (NLCA) in various roles including Chair of General Contractors Section, Chair of Standard Practices Committee, and as Association Board Chair from 2012 to 2013. He also served 8 years on the Board of the Canadian Construction Association (CCA), most recently as Chair of Standard Practices and a member of the Board’s Executive Committee. Brad was also appointed for a period of 2 years to the Steering Committee for the Institute for Building Information Modeling in Canada (IBC). He served two years on the Board of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Safety Association (NLCSA) and 2 years on the Board of the St. John’s Curling Association as Director of Properties. Brad is currently (2021-2022) President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Bonspiel Association having served as a committee member since 2008.
In his spare time Brad enjoys working on various projects at his home or at the family cabin. He loves building things, from fine woodworking in his home to extensions on the cabin.
