John joined Allied Construction Management in May 2015 after completing his post-secondary education. He attended Memorial University from 2010 to 2013 and graduated with a Diploma in Architectural Engineering Technology from the College of the North Atlantic in St. John’s.

John served as Project Manager for the Canopy Growth Production Facility in St. John’s—a 230,000 sq. ft. industrial project valued at over $90 million. He has also managed the One Churchill Park luxury apartment development and most recently led the redevelopment of a former Costco building into a state-of-the-art Ambulatory Health Hub, delivered on schedule and under budget. He continues to be involved in complex healthcare, institutional, and multi-residential projects across the province.

In June 2018, John earned his designation as a Professional Technologist (P.Tech). His technical training includes Autodesk software, the National Building Code of Canada, environmental design principles, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, estimating, procurement, contract administration, construction law, and professional communications.

Raised in a construction family, John began working as a carpenter apprentice at age 15 with AMD Holdings Ltd. Over nine years, he gained hands-on experience in both complex commercial and custom residential construction—experience that continues to inform his practical, buildable approach to project management today.

John’s leadership extends beyond construction. In 2015, he served as Chair of the Grand Slam of Curling Tour Challenge at the Paradise Double Ice Complex, leading a team of 300 volunteers and welcoming 240 international athletes to the largest curling event ever hosted by Sportsnet. He was also a director for the 2017 Tim Hortons Brier and is the Past President of the St. John’s Curling Association (2017–2018), having served on its board since 2012 in roles including Marketing Director and Property Director.

Professionally, John is a Council Member with the Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists of Newfoundland and Labrador (AETTNL), contributing to governance and advancement of the engineering technology profession within the province.

Since October 2022, John has been an instructor with the Build Your Future – Construction Trades Program, an initiative of the Association for New Canadians (ANC). The program supports newcomers and refugees with skilled and semi-skilled trade backgrounds in securing employment and apprenticeships in Newfoundland and Labrador’s construction industry through a collaborative, multi-stakeholder model focused on practical training, cultural integration, and long-term workforce development.
