John Sr. joined Allied Construction Management in September 2016 as a Site Superintendent, bringing with him over 37 years of diverse construction experience. His career began in 1981 with City Builders Ltd. (now AMD Holdings Ltd.) immediately after graduating high school. Recognized early for his leadership and technical ability, John was quickly promoted to superintendent while working on remote projects in Northern Labrador.

From 1985 to 1995, John took on some of the most challenging construction conditions in the province, completing projects in Nain and Hopedale, Labrador. His portfolio during this time included fish plants, schools, RCMP detachments, sports complexes, and residential developments—each requiring adaptability, resilience, and hands-on leadership in remote environments.

After a decade in Labrador, John returned to Newfoundland and applied his extensive experience to complex renovation projects. Over the next 20 years, he led numerous healthcare and institutional upgrades for Eastern Health, including OR renovations, CT scan rooms, a cardiac catheterization lab, pharmacy and morgue renovations, and more. He has also successfully delivered projects for several federal departments such as Parks Canada, the Canadian Coast Guard, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, and the Canada Revenue Agency.

John brings a meticulous eye for detail and a deep understanding of construction logistics to every job site. His calm, steady approach and depth of experience make him an invaluable asset to Allied’s on-site operations.

Outside of work, John is a passionate restorer of classic cars. Entirely self-taught, he has mastered mechanical work, welding, bodywork, and painting. Whether it’s a vintage vehicle or a major project milestone, John approaches everything with precision, pride, and dedication.
