Allied’s ability to self-perform key aspects of construction sets us apart from many general contractors. It means we aren’t simply administrators of the process — we are hands-on builders whose experience, creativity, and practical knowledge directly benefit the entire project team.
When Allied self-performs work, we positively influence quality, safety, and schedule performance across the project. Our involvement at the execution level improves coordination, enhances control over key workflows, and allows us to respond quickly to challenges as they arise.
Some of the self-perform services we provide include:
-
Demolition
-
Rough Carpentry
-
Hand Excavation
-
Millwork Installation
-
Finish Carpentry
-
Doors, Frames, and Hardware Installation
-
Miscellaneous Specialty Installations
-

Concrete work is a particular area of specialization for our team. Quality concrete execution is critical to the success of virtually every project, and maintaining our own self-perform concrete division allows us to control three essential variables: quality, cost, and schedule. With experienced trade personnel and commercial formwork capabilities, we remain competitive across a wide range of concrete projects.
Allied has served as concrete subcontractor on many large-scale developments, including Canadian Forces Station St. John’s, the Fairfield Inn & Suites, and the Wedgewood Park Aquatic Centre.
Most recently, Allied is performing concrete work on the new Adult Corrections Facility Replacement Project in St. John’s for the PCL/Marco joint venture. This project, currently under construction, will deliver a modern correctional facility that replaces one of Canada’s oldest institutions and supports expanded capacity, health services, and rehabilitative programming.
